We love the minute yard up-keep and the many outside common areas available to all! Now we just need more people to build and enjoy this type of neighborhood!Courtneynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7572205562498024454.post-86823477962598970172010-04-18T16:27:34.634-04:002010-04-18T16:27:34.634-04:00Nick is just upset he doesn't live in Englewoo...Nick is just upset he doesn't live in Englewood. It's out in the middle of the country and although its one mile away from I-70 (not right next to the highway), there is a really crappy Wal-Mart on Hoke Rd. near the highway and they put a few shopping centers there in 2005 that are alredy almost vacant. There isn't much around here. i don't understand why they didn't do something like this in Vandalia. Vandalia has I-70 and I-75 and Rt. 40, the Dixie Highway, the Airport Access Road, it's very central and close to downtown, the city is nicer, the Dayton International Airport is there, and the city is much more populated! Englewood/Clayton have none of these advantages. I don't think this is going to be a success story because the development has sat there since 2006 and it only has three boring tenants.Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15278868846929578178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7572205562498024454.post-34370997620816847802009-04-24T21:32:00.000-04:002009-04-24T21:32:00.000-04:00^

There is a similar development, but not this nice, near Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, which I will touch on in a later post, when I go back to Greene County.Jeffereyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01294969786619943530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7572205562498024454.post-2654581603960148642009-04-24T17:20:00.000-04:002009-04-24T17:20:00.000-04:00Now those houses just need alleys to run in back o...Now those houses just need alleys to run in back of them and you'd have a nice, modern East Dayton/Belmont clone. :)

I wonder if home buyers appreciate this adherence to the local styles. It's really weird to see new housing in these styles."TheDonald"noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7572205562498024454.post-87519510441776610502009-04-24T12:10:00.000-04:002009-04-24T12:10:00.000-04:00Hey, this is all looking very interesting, actuall...Hey, this is all looking very interesting, actually I'm surprised it's gotten any legs to go but if it turns out anything like what the plan looks, that would be amazing.

The houses with the garages in the rear remind me of some of the newer suburbs in Madison, WI, which in essence are trying to mesh the older classic ones (which are still very expensive to live in, in Madison) and some newer options, which I think is a great way to preserve classical styles of american homes while not sticking with a ridged boundary of the style itself.

Hope it works!Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00923806555052110271noreply@blogger.com
